Join us for an exciting Wednesday evening program for all ages!
Acts 2:42-47 describes the priorities of the early church as teaching, fellowship, breaking of bread, and prayer. It is the desire of the Plymouth Church of the Brethren to incorporate theses into our Wednesday evening programming.
We will begin by breaking bread together. During the meal, families will be able to share in Christian fellowship.
Teaching and prayer will occur during the second hour of the evening with classes for all ages. This is our opportunity to open our hearts and “listen up” to what the Lord has to say. A special prayer group will also be available to lift up the church’s requests and help us listen to God’s direction.

It’s been a hot and sticky summer, and we’re all looking forward to a little cooler weather and the start of a fall routine. Make Listen Up! part of your family’s Fall schedule. This Fall, an additional adult class has been added to accommodate the large numbers we’ve had in past sessions.
We’re hoping to see a renewed interest by the children and youth of the church as we study the act of giving thanks. Bible stories, crafts, music, and games will all be part of the fun this session!
During Lent this year, we will be going on a journey in which we are invited to let go of the burdens and failures of the past and enter a new land where God’s abundant provisions of forgiveness and new life are received with joy. Both in our individual lives and in the lives of congregations, sin can mar our relationships with each other and with God. The season of Lent offers an opportunity to examine our inner landscape, confess our emptiness and brokenness, and welcome the resurrected Christ anew into our lives.
No matter how often we stumble or falter, the scriptures for Lent show us a God who reaches out to us in mercy. In the Psalms we see a God who promises to be our refuge, our light, our rich feast, our hiding place, and the restorer of joy. The Old Testament readings take us on a journey with the Israelites whose pilgrimage through the wilderness brought them to a new country. They too heard God’s invitation to forget the former things and press on toward the abundance of the Promised Land. In the gospel readings, we follow Jesus from the wilderness of temptation to the cross and the empty tomb. The epistles show us the transformed life to which we are called. I encourage you to read the following scriptures during Lent and see where the journey takes you.

We’ve had a busy year making Prayer shawls, baby hats and burial gowns. In 2009 we blessed 53 shawls, gave out 39 shawls. We made 142 baby hats for the hospital and 41 burial gowns. We also made 11 hearts that the hospital puts on the door when a mother loses her baby.
We still meet on Monday evenings at 6:30 p.m. Everyone is welcome to come and knit, crochet or any craft. You may also come for fellowship if you want to the company. The last Monday of the month is when we bless whatever we’ve made during the month.
